Monthly Taster Session
We run taster sessions on the first Sunday of the month, between March & September, on our field at 11 o’clock. You will be provided with a bow and shown the basics of shooting.
We are inclusive and will do our best to provide support for the less able among us. We do suggest however, that if support is needed, a carer come long and also attend the taster session/beginner course.
The taster courses are £5 per person. This will then be deducted from your beginner course price if you wish to persue archery with us.

ARCHERY GB/GNAS APPROVED BEGINNERS TRAINING COURSE

If you find yourself enjoying this fantastic sport then the next step is to join one of our Beginner Courses. Once again just contact us using the contact form to organise which one you will be joining. Subject to availability.
This course runs over 3 sessions and comprises 2+ hours tuition each session. Our coaches are all Archery GB qualified to teach archery.
The course will teach all you need to know in order to start archery and all required equipment will be supplied for your use. It is recommended to purchase your own equipment after 6 months to a year as it will be specifically tailored to suit you.
On completing the course all participants will take away an understanding of the basic skills of barebow and freestyle shooting, basic technique, safety and etiquette to the level required to join a Club and a certificate of Attendance which is acceptable proof they have attended a Beginners’ Course and therefore safe to shoot in a Club environment.
Children (Juniors under 18) are welcome to participate in the Club’s Courses based on their ability to handle a bow safely.
OOBAC has a Children and Vulnerable adults policy, in accordance with Archery GB/ GNAS guidelines.
All Juniors be they beginners or members must be accompanied throughout the Course and at all Club Shoot days/nights by a parent or responsible adult.
All our course coaches are CRB/DBS checked.
